on to keep them clean. Or if you have them stacked inside each other you can put that plastic wrap over top of them to keep them clean until you need them. I forget what it is called and I am too lazy to go look in the kitchen for the box lol.
I'm a closet germophobe, so I vote for on so they're cleaner. I have to oppose jenster and say that I think it looks nicer on, as well. $0.02 for you. :)

On keeps them cleaner. But off makes them look nicer.
if you keep them on, you won't have to rinse your bowls before you use them ?

I store mine off because it is space saver, but the others have a good point!
i store mine with lids off -- separate box for all lids. space saving for me. whatever works for you....

I raised 3 kids with lids OFF! Never had an ill effect on any one of them!
I never had THAT much room in my cupbards either! LOL
