Letters From War (excerpts)

..."the Hero flight went out of our fob... we made a formation and saluted when the ambulances drove by...thats how they carry the bodies to the helo pad... I don't know how I managed to stay standing in the formation... I wanted to fall to my knees and pray and cry... especially when I saw the bags they carry them in, just like on tv...but I made it through okay...when I saw a convoy going out earlier I wanted to get on my knees and pray for them right in the street."

Thank You Lord that my husband's eyes and heart are turned towards You in a time and place that it must be so difficult to see You.

And for every bag, there is a mother, a father, possibly siblings, a spouse, and children...

I have to believe that God has a special place in heaven for soldiers. Even though I don't know most of them, seeing the flag draped on the coffin of a soldier is so real for me, and each one of them is so precious.

Praying that God place a physical and spiritual hedge of protection around Charlie and every other soldier over there...

hey! I know for a fact I posted a comment on this one! maybe the commenter was broken on the day I posted!!!!

What I think I said was,

I am so both sad for and proud of your man. God is doing tremendous things in his life. i pray for him daily (and you too... I know this stuff is hard to hear for a military wife)
