How Deep IS This hole?

Ugh. The hole is getting deeper. And I am tired....so tired...

BUT HEAR THIS! God is doing mighty works. Growing pains are called growing pains because they are so fun and sweet. NO! Because they are painful. Cliches are cliches because there is universal truth in them. But do you want to stay 2 foot 4 for your entire life? How will you reach the counter at Starbucks?
Today our study was talking about Elijah and how he had come up against all the dumb prophets of Baal and how Elijah was this big talker and had this huge success with God. And then the next day a lady with a bad temper sent him a note threatening his life and he ran away scared and asking to die. (into a cave mind you. where I would like to join him for a lengthy nap). But God sent an angel to him and what did the angel say? He said, "GET UP". and then some other stuff - but you have to start with GET UP.
You don't get to quit because you are scared or tired or unhappy. You get up. You eat and prepare for the long journey(yes, you get to rest - A LITTLE BIT). And then you trust God and go.
PFT.

OH, THE IRONY!!!

I love that God sent YOU this passage today, I love that you shared it with US, and I love the way you retold is Bible stuff.

Now, i am going to take a nappie. Hope someone from the opposite side of the continent doesn't call and wake me up. cause that would stink.

Thanks for being willing to share even through your pain.

I am going through some growing pains myself. I keep telling myself I am going to be closer to the person he wants me to be on the other side. It doesn't make it any easier but it nice to know He is in control.

You are so my kind of gal!! Not only because of the Starbuck's comment - which was hysterical - but because there is humor in your pain. And you are faithful to God and trust Him in all the muck.

Blessings to you, friend!

Thank you for sharing so openly. Growing is never fun. Right now feels like I'm failing. I keep thinking of the Veggie Tales' movie Sumo of the Opera. It's all about perseverance.

Bob poses this question to Larry, "You can't give up! Don't you want to be a finisher?"

Larry - "Yeah. I'm finished riding on the bus and I'm finished hopping around the whole town...."

Always makes me laugh.

Veggie Tales' definition of Perseverance: To keep on keepin' on.

What can I say? I watch a lot of kid's shows. :-P
